ABOUT VEDIC MEDITATION

the technique

Vedic meditation is a simple and effortless daily practice that anyone can learn. We sit comfortably, with our eyes closed, twice a day for 20 minutes and gently lead the mind and body to a more de-excited state. We do this by using a personal mantra or sound, which calms the mind, rests the body and dissolves any built up stress and fatigue. No focus or concentration is required and a daily practice will bring a myriad of benefits to all aspects of life.

The tradition

Vedic meditation derives from a 5,000 year old body of knowledge known as the Veda, the same body of knowledge yoga and Ayurveda originate from. Its integrity has been maintained through an unbroken line of teachers to this day. The technique is specifically designed for ‘householders’, making it easy for people leading busy and full lives to incorporate into their day. Like yoga and Ayurveda, it can be practiced by anyone regardless of religion or belief system. You don’t have to believe in it to derive its benefits - even if you don’t believe in it, it still works.
